Oorlogsspullen
WorkThe Netherlands · militaria shop
A Dutch shop that sells pieces of military history, and every piece has to be described.
AI tool · WooCommerce
The problem
Every item needs seven pieces of writing, in two languages.
A search title. A description in Dutch and one in English. Alt text in both. Search text in both. All of it in the shop's own house style, for every single item that goes on the shelf.
That writing is what makes an old helmet findable, and every word of it had to be written by someone.
What we built
A button inside their own shop that writes the first draft.
Write with AI, on the product page
Upload the photos of an item and press the button. It drafts the title, both descriptions, both alt texts and both search texts, in the shop's voice.
Drafts, not decisions
Every field lands in the normal editor, ready to change before anything is published. It drafts; a person still checks.
Inside WooCommerce
No new system to learn. It lives where the shop already works, on the WooCommerce site at oorlogsspullen.nl.
The draft
One press, seven fields.
Scroll to press the button and watch the fields fill, then the part that matters: a person signs it off.
Release logv1.4.0 → v1.9.1
Photos uploaded. Nothing written yet.
The hard parts
Writing for a collector is not the same as writing for a shopper.
Two languages, seven fields
Dutch and English are not one text translated twice. Each field has its own length, its own job and its own rules.
The shop's house style
The drafts follow the shop's own rules for how an item is named and described, so a new listing reads like the old ones.
Reviewed before it was installed
The host's own sysadmin read the code before it went near the live shop. It was signed and installed inside a week.
It keeps shipping
The release log runs from v1.4.0 to v1.9.1 so far.
Where it is now
It is installed in the shop.
The shop came to us as a referral from our first US client, and the button now sits on its WooCommerce product pages.
[needs: the shop's yes to show its admin screens, and any cleared figure]
